A qualified crew

Qualified and experienced personnel are indispensable in order to guarantee faultless operation on board the vessels.

Systematic training and ongoing supplementary instruction of our personnel at sea – from the cadet up to the captain – are an important prerequisite for modern and safe ship operation. Regular training sessions in quality and environmental management in compliance with international safety regulations for the protection of the crew, the vessel, the cargo and the ports (ISM, ISPS, C-TPAT) are a fixed item on the calendar on board our ships.

Furthermore, by means of periodical seminars for which we also call in external experts as speakers, our ship management personnel are informed about the latest developments in shipping and are shown how to implement these in practice. This is how we guarantee our uniform high performance standard.

To cover future needs for properly trained nautical personnel, on all container ships of the fleet the Hansa Mare Reederei provides short-term practical training courses for navigation students or cadets.
